Current Series - Jesus Plus Nothing
When it comes to people groups, we love to identify external and superficial behaviors which are designed to differentiate between who's in and who's out. Religions are notorious at this, Christianity included. Even though we start with Jesus, pretty soon it's Jesus plus a certain way of behaving, or a certain point of doctrine, or a list of things that you must do, or not do. The danger in this thinking is that external pressure can never produce an internal change. And the tragedy is that when it's Jesus plus something, you end up losing Jesus.

 At the Upper Room, we believe that God has designed each and every person in this community with gifts, talents and strengths to be used for His church. We also believe that in the midst of a world that drives us to lead busy lives, we are called to give our time and energy to be part of God's redemptive plan here on earth. As we continue to grow together as a community of people loving God and others in the rhythm of Jesus, we need each member of our community to volunteer in some way to fuel the life of OUR community.
