Here is how you can be a part of our partnership with El Salvador.

Child Sponsorship

La Bendicion is an Area Development Project located in Lolotique municipality, San Miguel province. In this micro-region the poverty levels are high due to the lack of jobs as a result of the coffee crisis. This has impacted the children and the families’ economy in this area. The Upper Room is committed to working with World Vision in sponsoring children in La Bendicion. Currently, the Upper Room sponsors 265 children in El Salvador with a goal of reaching 305 sponsor children by the end of 2006. Your monthly sponsorship pledge of $30.00 (only $1.00 a day) will help provide your sponsor child as well as others in the community with things like clean water, health care, educational opportunities, nutritious food and spiritual nurture. Mission Trip to El Salvador

Each summer a group of 25 people from the Upper Room community have the opportunity to travel to and experience God’s love in the country of El Salvador, aid in the construction process of homes in the La Bendicion area for families in need and to meet their sponsor children. The summer 2007 trip dates will be July 21-29. Further information about this trip will be available in the upcoming months.
